Seasonal Conservation Aide

Under general supervision of the Director & Rangers, assists in the development and maintenance of Iowa County Conservation Board (ICCB) wildlife areas, campground, equipment, and facilities.

Job Description

Duties: Mainly provide services to maintain areas, equipment, and facilities under ICCB management. Operate various types of equipment. Evaluate situations in the field and follow through accordingly. Occasionally assist Naturalist with environmental education, helping with programs and activities, assist in administrative duties including attending one Board meeting to take minutes, do one ride along with Ranger staff. Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public. Provide specific assistance to the public as needed. Enforce park rules as needed.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, possess good work habits and ethics, and handle the rigors of all types of climate and terrain. The demonstration of strong leadership skills when working on projects with other employees and public groups is preferred.

Compensation: This position will pay $13/hour with no benefits. 40 hours per week (M-F). This position may require limited work on nights and weekends. Housing is not available.
